The very first time two sentient species encountered each other the same process has been used.

This world is one of my first three reformation projects

It took only seven minutes to destroy everything I knew.

He'd lived in the house longer than most of the town had been alive.

The signal was detected.

I used to scoff at the crazy, old homeless man for his rants about how aliens were here and that they are slowly taking over.

I woke up this morning with this idea fully-formed in my mind. I decided I needed to write it down before I forgot it.
